November Meeting Recap

We mixed things up a little in November and started our meeting off with a great demo. Shelly showed us how to add a zipper and handle to a quilt to create a "Picnic Quilt Tote".

For those who missed the demo or would like more detailed instructions, there is a tutorial available on Shelly's blog. Thanks for sharing Shelly!

And finally, a BIG announcement.......
December 14th will be the last meeting of the Bakersfield Modern Quilt Guild. For nearly three years, we have tried to grow our membership and find leadership among our members. Unfortunately, we do not have the volunteers necessary to serve on the Board. The current board discussed the situation and has decided that the best option for our members is to close the guild as it is and to continue strictly as a Friendship Group. Several people have comment about their disappointment in the guild not continuing......BUT, we will be continuing, just in a less formal arrangement. Details regarding the new Friendship Group will be posted here and emailed to the group soon.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving!
