Quilting designs are another form of putting your artistic touch into your quilt. The designs and thread choices, the stacking and spraying, pinning and basting. All steps to the process of completing your quilt. This Wednesday August 3rd from 6:30-8:30 we will be learning just that.
How to prep your quilt for your domestic machine, or for a long arm quilter. Thread choices, and designs, stacking and basting as well as many more tricks of the trade. We encourage everyone to stop by and bring along a notebook and pen to take some notes on this great presentation put together by Lynn Douglass. Learn how to decide what is ok to quilt it yourself and when you should leave for long armers.
We will also be having a discussion on the Habitat Challenge. Feel free to bring what you have so far and we will be sharing with the group our progress and getting advice as well.
See you all on Wednesday.
Boy I coulda used this meeting! Soooooo sorry I couldn't make it! It was my hubs birthday though. Priorities! Hope it went well! I miss you guys!
ReplyDeleteSince I'm a longarm quilter, that's what I know the most about. I didn't realize the hour would be finished before we really covered domestic machine quilting! We'll schedule another time to cover that. Thanks for being such a great group of quilters to speak in front of! I didn't get sick at all! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI thought Lynn did a wonderful job talking about long arm arm quilting! Her professional experience on how to prepare a quilt to be long armed, and the importance of communication with your quilter. She does beautiful work and her artistry shows through in all her quilting. She's a lot of fun TOO!
